Youth On Ice is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that was founded by Patrick Cavanagh in 1996. Patrick Cavanagh played junior hockey in Canada as well as professional hockey in the ECHL and AHL. Patrick retired and started Cavanagh's Developmental Hockey Program (CDHP) with over 25 schools in Michigan, Virginia, and Dallas. He also owns his own rinks in Virginia and North Carolina.

Patrick resigned as President of Youth On Ice in 2004 and passed on his title to Tim Byrd who has brought Youth On Ice to Florida. Tim passed away recently with the Board stepping in to fill his shoes.

Youth On Ice has raised funds annually and financial assisted hundreds of youth hockey players, male and female, who simply cannot afford the fees associated with the sport.
